Prime Minister ends succesful working visit to Japan
Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller has ended a three day working visit to Japan with the signing of a joint declaration with her Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe.
The document is for the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries.
According to the agreement, the countries will seek to co-operate in areas such as energy conservation and renewable energy as well as mineral resources development. The agreement also covers the strengthening of co-operation on Caribbean and global issues.
During the visit Simpson Miller also invited Japanese investors to Jamaica.
While in Japan, the Prime Minister promoted Jamaican coffee and tourism during her meetings with Ueshima Coffee Company and the Japan Association of Travel Agents.
She concluded her visit by participating in a Latin American and Caribbean Business forum that was staged by the Japanese Government and the Inter-American Development Bank.
