Seis muertos en enfrentamiento en puesto aduanero de Haití
Seis personas, entre ellas cuatro oficiales de Aduanas, murieron en un conflicto que se produjo al mediodía de este sábado en el puesto fronterizo aduanero del lado haitiano, a unos 300 metros de Mal Paso, según confirma el periódico de Haití Le Nouvelliste.
Durante el incidente, una multitud de haitianos destrozó, saqueó, y quemó la oficina de Aduanas y sus almacenes.
Una persona murió durante el conflicto producto de una herida de bala, mientras que otra pereció luego durante el saqueo, según informó el periódico Le Nouvelliste. En tanto que un oficial de Aduanas murió calcinado y otros tres asfixiados por el humo producto del fuego.
Durante el altercado, al lugar se enviaron unidades policiales, entre ellas algunos de los cuerpos de intervención y de aplicación de la ley (CIMO), para restablecer el orden. Sin embargo, varias barricadas erigidas en el camino les impiden llegar a su destino.
Hasta el momento se desconocen los motivos que dieron lugar al incidente.
Esta semana en Haití se han registrado intensas protestas y conflictos principalmente en Puerto Príncipe, donde ayer los manifestantes exigieron la renuncia del presidente Jovenel Moise.

Saturday after a difficult week of demonstrations, violence and paralysis of economic activities and in an attempt to ease tensions Prime Minister Jean-Henry Céant in a message to the Nation, broadcast on social networks, announced that the time of the rally and union arrived and to sit down together to develop the country, pointing out that Haiti is crossing a difficult and dangerous crossroads.
He invited all political forces to dialogue to “really solve the problems” and appealed to the private sector to work hand in hand to create wealth and prosperity, recalling “Haiti is our country […] the moment has arrived so that together we can take it in hand […]”
He also reiterated the Government’s firm commitment to investigate allegations of irregularities in the management of PetroCaribe funds and assured that all those responsible will be prosecuted.
Finally, he promised job creation, especially in the popular neighborhoods from Monday, November 26, and announced to this end, the launch of a program of cleaning of canals, road construction, streets cleaning saying “This are jobs that will be created, the economic activity that will begin, it is the country that will be got in shape.”

Suman 11 los muertos por protestas en Haití
Miles de manifestantes chocaron con la policía en la capital haitiana y demandaron la salida del presidente Jovenel Moise, en el sexto día de protestas.
La policía disparó gases lacrimógenos para dispersar a la muchedumbre, que lanzó piedras, trató de robar negocios y rompió las ventanillas de vehículos en Puerto Príncipe. Un grupo lanzó bombas incendiarias contra una gasolinera, pero las llamas fueron extinguidas rápidamente.
Al menos 11 personas han muerto en las protestas, entre ellas un hombre cuyo cadáver estaba ardiendo cerca de una barricada el viernes por la mañana. Otras seis personas murieron el miércoles cuando un vehículo del gobierno perdió el control.
Las escuelas y la mayoría de las oficinas del gobierno siguen cerradas.
Los manifestantes acusan a Moise de no investigar acusaciones de corrupción del gobierno previo, relacionadas con un programa venezolano de combustible subsidiado. Moise ha dicho que él no renunciará.
Haiti – FLASH : Angry mob attacks the customs of Malpasse at least 6 dead
Saturday a Haitian driver was mortally wounded by gunfire during an altercation with a customs officer about 300m from the Malpasse border crossing point (Ganthier Commune).
This tragedy provoked a spontaneous anger reaction from the population who attacked, vandalized and looted the customs warehouses before setting them on fire and at the customs office. A person died during these events, it could be the customs officer involved in the altercation (unconfirmed).
Subsequently, a very “upraised” crowd pursued customs officers who took refuge in the premises of the Malpasse Police Station, which was burned by unidentified individuals. Stuck in the police station, a customs officer died burned alive while 3 others succumbed, asphyxiated by the smoke.
The partial assessment is 6 deaths but the number of victims could be higher pending an official assessment of the authorities.
Several units of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) have been called to restore order, but barricades on the road up Fonds-Parisien and violent demonstrators prevented them from arriving in time to avoid the tragedy, according to an official of the City of Ganthier.
Events that worry economic operators, Malpasse being the border crossing that has the largest volume of bilateral trade across the border.
